Are you ready for the construction site of the future?
Date: 07 September 2017
I read a very interesting article last week which appeared on www.brinknews.com talking about the changes which are afoot across the global construction industry. These initiatives, in my opinion, are long overdue and can only help alleviate the consistent problems with delays and budget blow-outs.
I am constantly amazed at how the construction industry is behind so many industries when it comes to embracing technology and digitisation. A simple analogy would be the changes in aviation over the last twenty years. How is it that we can build an aeroplane that can fly for 16 hours non-stop and land like a feather, and yet we still struggle to put a hole in the wall and can’t get properly co-ordinated building services with structural elements?
It’s time for those involved in the construction industry to adopt technology such as BIM, which undoubtedly leads to better co-ordination, along with faster and more cost-effective building. If machinery can catch up with technology, surely we’ll all be maximising our optimisation levels when it comes to production and service?
Take a look at the article, and let me know your thoughts. Alternatively, if you would like a demonstration of our BIM software that will show you cost-efficiencies and other benefits first-hand, do please get in touch.
